Ish

  • 2003 rebranding of KabelNRW, Europe’s largest fiber optic network, with 5 million homes connected, and offering TV, internet and telephone.

  • Ish means nothing besides the onomatopoetic.

    Onomatopoeia is a characteristic of the Japanese language, that’s why sounds look so much better in Japanese comics than their Roman script counterpart.

    Could this be helped? I started drawing a manga inspired letters, and ended up with a manga inspired logo.

  • For the typography I selected Vectora, an underused typeface by Adrian Frutiger. For headlines I had the opportunity to specify Composite by Mike Cina.
