Ish

  • In 2003 Ish was the name chosen to rebrand KabelNRW, Europe’s largest fiber optic network, with 5 million homes connected, and offering TV, Internet and telephone.

  • The name Ish has no specific meaning besides the onomatopoetic.

    Onomatopoeia is a characteristic of the Japanese language, that’s why sounds look so much better in Japanese comics than their Roman script counterpart.
    With this in mind Newlyn designed a magna inspired logo.

    For the typography he selected Vectora, an underused typeface by Adrian Frutiger. For headlines I had the opportunity to specify Composite by Mike Cina.
