  • Macmillan is a complete support network for people who have been touched by cancer. That’s all of us.

    There is no disease that has touched the lives of so many people either directly or indirectly as cancer. Macmillan provides practical, emotional and financial support, information and specialist care for cancer sufferers.
    The organisation also raises awareness and is an advocate for better cancer care.

  • Macmillan is probably one of the most loved and well-recognised no-profit organisations in the UK.

    As an organisation Macmillan has positioned itself as a partner of the people. This is cleverly reflected in the language created to position the brand.

    The branding conveys the fact that cancer sufferers are on a shared and sometimes terrifying journey and that Macmillan is there to share that with them.

  • Miles Newlyn was commissioned to create a custom typography, which would reinforce the feeling of engagement with the brand and create a sense of a community at one.
    The whole brand identity is built on the custom font designed by Newlyn.
    The Macmillan Cancer Support brand identity that resulted won Wolff Olins gold at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards.
